Perf10

During the day, this ex-Christian Dior visual artist Fancy Mike spends his time managing a biannual literary and fine arts journal while completing his studies in French History and Literature. At night, he makes beats and e-mails famous people so they’ll listen to his music. His sound consists of lo-fi, synth-based instrumental music, backed by analog-driven technology and tape hiss. Mike likes to maintain a style that is heavily reminiscent of filmic scores, French electro, 70s disco music, 80s synth-pop and current-day future music.

Today we have a new, long-awaited mix entitled “Petalooma“. It shows a whole variety of future music sub-genres, washed-out sounds and precise pick of sequence are managed to act in collusion with your subconsciousness to make you enjoy every moment of those fragile vibes.

Our mix series is back with a great selection of tunes by Fella Vaughn! Fella combined the difference between the style and mood, just to show those gems that we often miss or don’t even know about. He rather calls it as a collection of rare, exclusive and a bit more known tunes, than a pro mix. As the title prompts, we often need to escape from the daily routine, so it’s a best background music to do that!

If you’re not familiar with this name, then here’s a bit info about him. Germany based DJ/Producer Fella Vaughn has worked with Cerebral Vortex, Miles Bonny, Shuanise and amongst others. Released “Do My Thing” 7″ on MPM and did a free mixtape album along with his buddy Tobrock under Rockafella alias. The mixtape is up for grabs at Bandcamp FOR FREE, so go get it!

French guy SPORT G aka FantastikClick & SPORT G is a producer living in Paris, recently he launched Cascade Records label along with his fella Sal. Perf10 proudly presents a new blend of warm vibes entitled “Nitroigliceryn Soul” by our great local hero, MC and producer Vaiper Despotin! He participates on many projects and collabs, but the main are: “Despotin Beat Club” is a weekly radio show on Lithuanian FM radio, not to mention that he’s a part of Despotin Fam’, who recently released “Odisėja 49” album, he’s also one of the members of “Renegades of Bump” DJ/Live team! But I guess the main talent he’s got is beatmaking, I already told you about that here.

In the mixtape you will find mostly organic, headnoddin soul spiced with filthy synths and of course, a pinch of warm vocals cannot be forgotten! “Let Me In!” is my attempt to a modern and funky housy mix, my own vision of what a Dancefloor should be sometimes, from 105 to 130 bpm. Sweet and sexy.
I choose some stricly funky tracks like the SV one or some more indie inspired by Detroit Techno like Addison Groove, with 80′s and 90′s influences at the same time.

Latest instalment of our mix series is from DMC European Champion 1991 – DJ Grazzhoppa from Belgium. You might not have heard about this guy before, but you should definitely check him, especially if you’re into jazzy, original sounds of hip-hop. Also, I have to mention that he’s in a group with his wife, they go by the name Mo & Grazz! Already released a few albums and the latest “Gemini” can be previewed/purchased here! DJ Bigband is another project that Grazzhoppa runs, it’s a band which consists of 11 DJ’s and other live artists, now tell me how crazy is that? No more introduction needed.

Stas Hmot and Albert Damscray are Demokracy, a group based in Siberia, Russia, recently signed to the Robox Neotech label. Well, It’s hard to describe their music, but the first impression was like it’s something between black and white, fun and odd. In the mix you will find a couple of unreleased tunes by their friends, plus some Russian pop rock from 90s, modern heavybassweight headbanging stuff and a few tunes by Delia Derbyshire, who was an electronic music pioneer in the mid of 20th century – she wrote a soundtrack for Dr. Who.
